Taking the photographs

Shooting  the rich textural qualities of charcoal in a near dark space not only has it challenges but its rewards as well. The mandatory tripod and long exposures are a given, not to mention some considered post production to bring out some of the finer features of the artwork. Post production is an essential part of the photographic process and is often used to remove unwanted content from exhibition images such as illuminated exit signage or fire extinguishers.
